Darkblak and I was able to attend last year’s event. Well, “accidentally”. Napadaan lang kami dati, free admission rin naman kaya nakiusisa kami kung anong meron. May Art Exhibits, Auctions, Halo-halong genre ng bands, si Pepe Smith at marami pang eye at ear candy. Hopefully we can attend this year’s event.

I received a text from Kirby this morning. May article daw sa Inquirer tungkol sa band namin. Then I completely forgot about it continued with my house chores. I just remembered when I faced my PC. I quickly placed in a message to our Guitarist.

“Uy, tungkol saan yung sa Inquirer?” I asked. Nakakapagtaka naman, ang huling tugtog namin kasi mga February pa, sobrang late naman yung article. Then I found out we got “featured” in Inquirer’s Sunday Magazine, last ahmm.. well.. Sunday. Hehe. The article is Turning Japanese: when Pinoy otakus attack! Sosyal~!. It is generally about the whole Anime - JMusic - Japanese Invation thingee. Here’s an excerpt of the article :

“…The local music scene has also seen an influx of bands influenced by Japanese pop music and anime soundtracks. Many do covers of popular anime songs, in Japanese. The name of one such band says it all: Tokyo’t Baboy. So Hapon and yet so Pinoy…”

Nakakatuwa rin na di naman kami ganun kagaling, yung name lang din namin ang nabanggit pero ’steeg!! Nakaka-inspire naman din na tumugtog ulit! Medyo “shakey” kami ngayon, matagal nang walang communication sa ibang members.. Hopefully mabasa rin nila yung article na yun and decide to give the band another chance.

I’ve received 3 email invites recently!

First one being an invite to attend The 12th Graphic Expo Seminar, which will be held on June 06 -09, 2007 at the Philippine Trade Training Center. Its for Graphic designers, digital artists, web masters, photographers, multimedia specialists and alike. The 3 day event will cover Adobe application suites such as Photoshop CS3 & CS2, Flash, Dreamweaver and etc. I think you’ll be able to choose which ones to attend More info here.

The second, thanks to Pong for the free Joost invite! yay! It is still on a beta version as of the moment, but with good internet connection, free cable viewing! Man, you gotta have this! I enjoy this one specially right now, ’cause our tv is broken. hehe.

It was the Adobe® Creative Suite® 3 Roadshow yesterday, held at the Makati Shangri-La Hotel. Its only a one day event, kaya go kami! Susyal~ Shangri-Lalalah!

Right after my shift, I met up with Fred first. Armed with Siopao and bottled water, we ate our “chinese lunch” at the bus. Took about 30 mins from Alabang to Makati, via SLEX.

March 10, 2007 - J-CRUNCH:RIPIITO!!! Band & Non-Band Performers AUDITION @ Gig Studio Cubao, Quezon City; 3:00 - 5:00 pm . More info here Our band, Tokyo’t Baboy will gladly participate in, incase we passed the audition, we’ll be playing for the event sometime in April.

March 24,  2007 - Beerkada Book 7 titled Fantakada will be launched at the Fandom Cafe, 1st Flr. Regalia Tower Park, (near EDSA cor. TuazonSt). Drop by anytime from 10 am till late in the evening! Prizes will be given to the attendees, and free anime/movie marathon from 4pm onwards. (map to Cubao area). Fantakada will be available at National Bookstore, Powerbooks and Comic Quest by last week of March or first week of April.
